Box-Type Substation Models And Specifications

Compared to traditional substations, box-type substations offer greater cost and labor efficiency; they are widely used in daily life and play a crucial role in voltage distribution. There are two main types of box-type substations:

Standard box-type substation (typically the ZBW outdoor combined type): This is a pre-assembled, complete set of power transformation and distribution equipment. It integrates high-voltage components, low-voltage components, and a transformer into a single unit. It supports three power supply configurations-ring network, dual-line, and terminal-offers excellent interchangeability, and has a small footprint. Standard dimensions are 3600mm in length, 2200mm in width, and 2500mm in height.

Compact box-type substation (GE type): Developed from the transformer itself, this type occupies only about one-third of the footprint of other models. It integrates a simplified transformer core, fuses, and other equipment into a single unit. Typical dimensions for the compact type are 2650mm in length, 1350mm in width, and a height of 1900mm or less (for the 630kVA model, the enclosure height, including the top cover, does not exceed 2100mm).

Box-type substations are also categorized into indoor and outdoor models; when purchasing, one can select the appropriate type based on specific operational requirements and the installation environment. The standard type is suitable for outdoor power distribution, while the compact type is ideal for factory floors or indoor settings. If a suitable off-the-shelf model cannot be found, a reputable manufacturer can be engaged for a custom solution.
